Sonja paints from her studio in a medieval Welsh longhouse, surrounded by the breathtaking Snowdonia scenery. The space, peace and sense of freedom of her home affect her work profoundly. Her abstract oil and mixed media paintings use a dialogue of shape and colour to create ideas about the landscape and inherent memory. Using a layering technique, the images have a both a sense of depth and a feeling of emanating light. Sonja has won several awards for her work, exhibiting in galleries in Wales and England and has also been shown in the USA and Canada. She has made several appearances on TV, radio and in magazines. Much of her work is now in public and private collections. |
